“Recent Highlights from the Cobar-Girilambone Project”

 

TALK OUTLINE:

Project aims Summary of work Recent Drilling results – geochemistry, PIMA, petrology, regolith etc.

Current Activities: – Regolith & Basement mapping – Preliminary Basement Interpretation – some new geophysical stretches – Preparation for drilling in the Byrock area – Rock Chip sample data capture

Future Plans /Conclusion

Ken McQueen (CRC-LEME) may be able to attend and will field question about aspects of regolith geochemistry.

BIO: Guy Fleming, Geologist, Geological Survey NSW: Guy joined the Survey in 1995, and has worked in the Discovery 2000 Minerals section under Peter Lewis. He currently works in the EXPLORATION NSW-funded ‘Information Systems’ Program and is responsible for specialist GIS software and hardware applications, graphics and promotions for Exploration NSW projects and supervision of the Cobar Project. Before joining the Survey Guy worked mostly as a contract geologist in various gold-related settings in Australia and PNG.
